Final Battle of Guttar part 7

All along the battlefield the information flowed in to Sarwen.  The entire length of the battlefield it seemed was aflame with fighting.  The battle was escalating fast and no hesitation could be shown and allow the Imperials to retake the initiative.  Sarwen ordered his own forces to advance, racing up with his own rhino and squad of Alpha Legion marines to overwhelm the western flank even as his forces advanced steadfast elsewhere.

With a smile on his face a Stygian psycher muttered an incantation then slit the throat of the stygian guardsmen beside him.  The stygians body crumpled and then rose bulging ever larger until the flesh was final burst apart to reveal a daemonic herald of tzeentch within.

Meanwhile a lone manticore opened fire in support of the eastern part of the battlefield targeting the imperial tanks on that flank.  The rockets flew up and then dropped short slamming into the guardsmen engaging the maulerfiend.  In seconds the massive swarm of guardsmen lost half their numbers in a rain of fire.

The heldrake swung low and engaged one of the wyverns that had been pounding the eastern flank.  The whirl of it's gatling guns spitting out shell after shell into the imperial artillery piece and setting it ablaze.

Meanwhile on the eastern flank the militia and a helbrute charged into the fray in an effort to save the swamped maulerfiend.  The dreadnaught ripped apart a number of guardsmen while even more fell to the frenzied attacks of the long suffering militia.  Still the priest managed to plant a meltabomb on the belly of the maulerfiend blowing it apart.  The handful of Liskavians left stood firm their faith giving them courage despite the horrendous losses they had endured and a bitter hand to hand struggle continued.

Final Battle of Guttar part 6

The fighting shifted westward, as The Imperial forces advanced. A demolisher tank and the heavy weapons teams opened up on the forgefiend that had killed the Imperial knight.  Their heavy fire slamming into the dark warp fueled war machine blowing off one of it's rotary cannons.

Meanwhile the other russ opened up on the defiler that was already repairing the damage done to it without effort.  The battlecannon shell shook the chaos war engine, Kharkovian plasma gunners fired out the hatch of their chimera.  The superheated plasma punching through the now weakened armor to detonate in the heart of the foul war machine.  The blast set off the unstable fuel core and the defiler vanished in a massive explosion leaving only a smoking crater.

The other demolisher targeted the lightly armored and damaged devil dog.  It's massive shell slamming into the stygian tank and detonating it in a massive fireball.

Another Kharkovian squad opened fire from the hatches of their chimera sending superheated plasma into a stygian chimera.  The plasma punched through the chaos apc and set it ablaze with stygian soldiers hurriedly pouring out of the doomed apc.

It was then that Col. Barsova heard over the vox the call from the sword frigate in orbit battling the infidel class raider.  A single lance shot came down from on high blinding the battlefield.  However the shot was off slightly so only a single chimera advancing in the west was hit.  The Stygian apc detonated into a burning crater.  However most of the troops within had been shielded by the dark powers of their faith and emerged unscathed.

In the extreme west Liskavian infantry charged the maulerfiend to the hypnotic war chants of the accompanying priest.  The mighty daemon engine crushed the first few guardsmen but the rest swarmed it and detonated krak grenades and a single meltabomb on the chaos war machine exploding it and leaving smoking craters on the western flank.

Final Battle of Guttar part5

Col. Barsova grimly assessed the situation.  The Stygian forces had hit his forces hard and were acting far more aggressively than anticipated.  He would not be able to simply whittle the traitors down with firepower before launching the coup de grace.  Without a moments hesitation Barsova ordered the advance of the Imperial force, determined to steamroll the Stygian forces.

On the eastern half of the battlefield a Liskavian took aim at a helbrute with a meltagun.  A searing hiss of energy filled the air followed by the sudden eruption of flames as the blast hit the helbrute, ruptured it's power cells and turned it into a flaming wreck.

The Vanquisher and heavy weapon teams in the east took aim at the massive maulerfiend bearing down on them.  Heavy fire slammed into the chaos daemon engine with most of the shots disrupted by the dark aura surrounding the abomination.  Still two rounds were able to punch through staggering the beast, just as quickly it lurched forward now trailing black smoke.

From the one of the wyverns opened fire on the stygian militia that were still advancing.  The shells of Imperial artillery came screeching into the midst of the chaos worshipers.  The howl of the shells competing with their howls of devotion until the explosions that engulfed them silenced them.

The other wyvern warned over the vox of a possible daemonic incursion hurriedly fired at the given coordinates.  A flurry of shells engulfed the rift and the blood soaked daemons of khorne.  as the shelling ceased no trace of the daemons was to be found.

Frantic to be rid of the daemonicly possessed maulerfiend a priest led forward elements of the Liskavian guard equipped with krak grenades into the grips of the war machine.  The daemon engine crushed the first few with ease, trampling them but the devoted battle sermons of the priest kept the Liskavians standing firm determined to destroy the foul warp creation.
