Battle of lunar colony 8 theta- fire and vengeance campaign

 

Lunar colony 8 theta- moon of Gorash VI- Imperium Nihlis 

The Apocalypse Angels task force made planet fall just outside the perimeter of the colony.  They could see the settlement burning but wether that was due to volcanic and tectonic activity or from khornate attackers was hard to determine.  Librarian Gabriel could detect a massive surge of powerful warp energy and the readings from orbit showed growing instability across the moon.

As they entered the settlement they found a massive vortex construct erected in the middle of the ransacked settlement.  Butchered bodies lay heaped about and the task force divided into two wings to clear the settlement.  Suddenly a large khornate warband appeared before them.  A twisted Dark Demon Knight construct leading them as they came on braying for blood.

The Apocalypse Angels rushed towards the Khornate warband.  Vindicator Alpha opened up and blew apart the chaos armiger knight in a thunderous explosion.  The Apocalypse Angels unloaded from their APCs and unleashed a deadly fusillade of fire into the crazed traitors who ran through the fire trailing bodies in their path.  Huge hulking berserkers cut apart a combat squad from squad Gemni before launching themselves into vindicator Alpha.  A squad of berserkers led by a slaughter priest executioner hammered at the hull of a razorback cutting apart it's tracks and tearing hgashes into the hull and wedging grenades in them.  The razorback smoke under the assault but with it's tracks disabled could not get away.  Meanwhile librarian Gabriel and his squad fought a massive swirling melee with a squad of berserkers led by a khornate champion.  Blades clashed and chain aces roared along with bolt pistol fire and screams as the bloody fight flared.  On the other wing a combat squad from squad Gemni blew apart a helbrute freeing ancient Elijah to shift towards the heart of the battle.

Chaplain Gaspar dropped behind the khornate forces with his assault squad.screaming litanies of vengeance and repulsion they hammered into the growing melee slaughtering a large number of berserkers but still the fight continued.  The vindicator blasted apart the exulted right bound that had damaged it.  The razorback trapped and surrounded called in a orbital strike on it's own position from the orbiting strike cruiser.  The resulting bombardment knocked out the razorback along with a few berserkers.  The remaining berserkers led by the slaughter priest executioner threw grenades into the Vindicator knocking it out of action.  They then charged into the mass melee howling insane demands for blood and skulls.  Laughing the slaughter priest executioner hammered librarian Gabriel into the ground with his armor ripped open.  Chaplain Gaspar beheaded the khorne champion then turned to face the slaughter priest executioner who was bellowing in triumph tinged with insanity.

Ancient Elijah hammered into the berserkers.  The impact of his charge and the blows of his power fist annihilating the khornate warriors.  Gaspar swung at the slaughter priest executioner who parried the blow and felling the chaplain with a vicious lunge that gutted the chaplain.

" Blood of the priest!  Blood of the Witch!  Blood of a champion!  With my blood and offerings let the power of khorne deliver the boon, the fulfillment of gore drenched desire!". The slaughter priest executioner screamed.

Librarian Gabriel started to shout a warning from where he lay but it was too late.  Ancient Elijah slammed his massive power fist into the slaughter priest executioner lifting him up and pulping him in his massive fist.

As the slaughter priest executioner's blood hit the surface of the moon the massive arcane ediface opened up pouring beams of raw warp energy and madness into the volcanic cracks.  The amount of energy was beyond Librarian Gabriel's experience and it was growing.  Vox with the company command indicated they were registering the same and had dispatched forces to evacuate Gabriel's command.  The khornate warband were all dead but they had successfully completed their dark blood ritual.
