Remus watched the death guard advancing through the ruins. He clicked a soft vox signal to Tiberian. "Contact, death guard infantry advancing in our direction. Engaging." A shot sounded out and a lone plague marine fell forward without a head. Brother Vincinian in the gantry threw a smoke grenade to obscure the vanguard positions.
A group of death guard marines saw Vincinian and overcharged their plasma weapons. Streams of fire engulfed Vincinian and he fell from the gantry wreathed in flames never to arise again.
With the death of Vincinian a general fire fight erupted as both sides poured fire into suspected enemy positions.
