Over the din of battle came the roar of an incoming meteorite. A sudden flash and explosion occurred behind the death guard line. The meteorite had been festooned with warp crystals that now shattered in a psychic resonance that left many psycher on the planet weeping blood. In a few places demonic incursions broke out. And in the crater were virus bombs and pox walkers in barrels awaiting the chance to spread the viral gifts of nurgle.
At once a nurgle land raider raced in to secure the site even as the rest of the death guard pressed forwards.
Col Ashcroft watched in despair as more meteorites began to come down. His assault force was being flanked and panic was running rife through the ranks. He issued the withdrawal order over the box, and offered a prayer that he could prevent a rout.
