The Technomancer
The Technomancer as he is now known as started as a Magos Dominus of Acrtus IV a small industrial city on the bleak world of Arctus IV. He was known primarily for his productivity and efficient managementof the site where he would regularly exceed tithe quotas. He was regarded with some suspicion as he was known to experiment on various side projects but never enough to be declared a heretech. This was enough to see him "promoted" to run the site on Arctus IV only 1 of three imperial settlements on the planet, instead of overseeing a site on a forge world.
Things changed when a tyranid splinter fleet invaded the subsector. The magos Dominus desperate to halt the assault on his facility seized the evacuating civilian population and had them turned into lobotomized weapon servitors. With this force added to his own he was able to repel the small invasion of Arctus IV. He then took this force to many of the nearby mining worlds that helped supply Artus IV with raw materials. These worlds too were under threat. The Magos and his force wiped out the tyranid threat. In doing so however the magos ordered the seizure of non essential personnel and had them too turned into lobotomized weapon servitors under his command. Any protests were cut short and silenced with the ending of these tyranid threats. The Magos would then depart for Arctus IV officially as a hero. Others bestowed the dark moniker of The Technomancer to the Magos.
The Technomancer then operated freely for the next century proving a pivotal factory in curbing many threats to the subsector. His methods were based on efficiency and many of the non essential were turned into lobotomized weapons needed to see off the threat. New forms of servitor weapons and warriors began to emerge as a result of the Technomancer's research. Dark whispers abounded and ships from Arctus IV would arrive over a planet and demand a tithe of flesh for the Technomancer for the safety of the subsector.
Complaints from planetary governors were ignored. The Arctus IV facility had doubled in size and had tripled production tithe output. The Sector authorities were uninterested in stories of the technomancer. Production quotas and tithes were being met or exceeded and the security situation was the best it had been in centuries.
This changed with the disappearance of the Golan III agriculture colony. The colony which had been failing to meet it's projected tithes was found abandoned, everything left behind undamaged. It's 50,000 inhabitants missing. A subsequent Inquisitional investigation uncovered the Technomancer had deemed their failure made the colonists non essential and had harvested them all for both a workforce on Arctus IV and as lobotomized servitor weapons to his now large army.
The Technomancer ignored all demands for explanation and defied any attempt at censure. A joint secret investigation by the Inquisition and the Mechanicum found proof of tech heresy. The Technomancer was publicly condemned as a heretech and ordered to surrender to Imperial authorities.
Then followed the Technomancer war as it was known in Imperial annals. The combined forces of the Imperium against the Technomancer and his legions of tech horrors. During the war the Technomancer harvested and repurposed the population of entire worlds. The War ravaged the Arctus sub sector but eventually the Technomancer stood on the verge of total annihilation.
It was at this point the Alpha Legion who had been watching the conflict intervened. Lord Magwar offered the Technomancer and his followers sanctuary with them in exchange for their services. The Technomancer agreed and was thus whisked off Arctus IV along with his most devoted supporters and lieutenants by Lord Magwar.
Since that day the Technomancer has become a key advisor and ally to Lord Magwar. He has been allowed to continue his research and serves as a weapon designer for the Alpha Legion. he was used to streamline the Stygian empires weapons production and was instrumental in the overhauls and redesigns of the spacehulk Shard of Tartarus where he currently resides having turned a section of the spacehulk into a research facility.
