Imperium Nihlis- Gorash III- Hive Sturgis- Kurgan the cruel manifested himself again on Gorash III through the force of sheer rage. He had been denied his prize of breaching the gates of Hive Sturgis. His rage swelled up and infected all around him. He pulled the disorganized khornate horde forces to him and let his rage fuel them, refocus them until they were a potent weapon of his wrath. The gates would fall,the loyalists would be shattered, and millions would perish in his fury for their defiance.
The khornate horde thundered forward only to be met with a torrent of fire from the Apocalypse Angels. The Apocalypse Angels brought down many of the horde but still they came on filled with the insane fury of the daemon prince. Fighting began breaking out along the length of the line. The fury of khorne against the righteous wrath of the emperor.
The Apocalypse Angels met the initial assault then launched a counterattack to disrupt the horde and clear the front in order to re-establish a devestating fire superiority. Assault squads leaped into action even as dreadnoughts thundered forward. The Apocalypse Angels hammered the horde stopping them dead. But they were not able to throw them back.
Kurgan the cruel entered the fray and with his coming came the exalted eightbound. Butchery reigned across the battlefield as both sides unleased utter savagery upon each other in vicious hand to hand combat. But the fury of Kurgan the cruel was not to be denied.
Slowly the Apocalypse Angels fell to the horde vehicles were destroyed and the line breached. Kurgan the cruel hacked apart Apocalypse Angel counterattacks. His daemonic flesh glowing like molten lava with his unquenchable rage. The gate to the hive was falling and the Apocalypse Angels were unable to stop it reluctantly they began to withdraw.
In order to cover the retreat ancient Elijah launched a lone assault into the horde. His rotary cannons scything down khorne berserkers. Over the thunder of his rotary cannon fire Elijah bellowed challenges over his vox horns. He dared Kurgan to face him while mocking the daemon prince's previous failure. Incensed Kurgan strode forth waving the horde off. He would destroy the dreadnought in single combat. No one else. Ancient Elijah fought bravely but was no match for the depth less malice of warp fueled fury that invigorated Kurgan. In seconds the dreadnought was down. Kurgan bellowed in first triumph then fury as he realized the Apocalypse Angels had managed to withdraw covered by the dreadnoughts assault. Still the gate was breached and Hive Sturgis opened to the slaughter and horror of the horde.
