Khyber Crusade- Nivinah Primus- The Khyber crusade targeted the imperial world of Nivinah for an initial attack. Intelligence gathered suggested that Imperium had stockpiled blackstone and blackstone research in bunkers on Nivinah in the main hive city of Nivinah Primus. The Alpha Legion hoped to capture both the blackstone and the research the Imperium had done. It was further hoped that amongst the research would be locations of further blackstone deposits. The Shard of Tartarus arrived to find a revolt underway at Nivinah Primus as a result of the fleet Quartus murder curse. Lord Magwar launched a preliminary bombardment then made landfall.
Unbeknownst to Lord Magwar a Crimson Fist task force under Captain Rico was present having been tasked with putting down the effects of the murder curse and the resulting rebellions. Fortunately the local insurgency was able to warn Lord Magwar’s forces who moved into the ruins to prepare an ambush. The cultists of the forsworn were caught out in the open and under a hail of gunfire routed leaving the right flank vulnerable.
The Crimson Fists advanced on the Alpha Legion Right flank enduring the fire of the vindicator and havocs. The hellblasters managed to damage the vindicator and were threatening to overrun the right flank. Lord Magwar swore at the forsworn for ruining the ambush on the right. The obliterators that were to land behind the Crimson Fists on the right flank and encircle them in a fire trap would now have to be dropped in to shore up the flank.
With their arrival they were able to stabilize the line and establish fire superiority. The intense fire halted the Crimson Fist advance and pinned them in place. The battle would now be decided on the left wing of the Alpha Legion force.
