Stygian forces were often reinforced by alpha legion obliteraters to increase the firepower of their formations. The demonic energy thrown off by the obliteraters caused a frenzy of dark devotion amongst the stygian mortal warriors. Thus a single obliterater made even a relatively weak force a dangerous threat.
