As the Stygian wars continued, alpha legion and Stygian forces made more and more use of daemonic war machines such as the venom crawler as a shock element to their assaults. The fact that these machines were fueled by the carnage they caused only made them more effective. They had a devestating effect on imperial morale that often required commisariat interventions and summary executions to hold in check.
