As the purge continued, imperial forces were suddenly hit by scattered counterattacks of beastmen. Imperial forces suffered their first significant casualties then. Most imperial commanders were surprised that the mutants were able to mount resistance let alone a counterattack. Bishop Vercito however saw this as confirmation of the ocularian inquisitors warning of danger festering in the outer habzone.
