Commodore Kangas gave a start as the Alpha legion task force emerged from the warp rift. Belatedly he realized that the raid and devastation class cruiser had been bait. He boxed the fleet. "Warspite close up wwith the frigates and engage the enemy frigates."
Commodore Kangas then ordered the Justicar to advance on the two murder class cruisers. "Ready the nova cannon and fire." The ship shuddered as the cannon fired and a massive nuclear blast erupted in front of the oncoming chaos cruiser. Kangas cursed and ordered the cannon reloaded as the first shot had missed. Below decks press ganged serfs struggled to reload the cannon as tech priests blurbed binary cant and preachers bellowed prayers to the emperor.
Meanwhile the Warspite launched fighters and star hawk bombers. Meanwhile the sword squadron opened fire with their forward batteries. Macro cannon fire buffeted the oncoming torpedoes suddenly a pair of explosions lit up the black as two torpedoes were destroyed.
