Against the Harrow Storm- a Grimm Omens campaign game

 

The fallen moon of Moriax, inside the great rift-  Grimm landed with a small force upon the moon's surface.  He had learned from the newly arrived black legionnaires that two Renegade knight houses had clashed.  That House Harrowstorm had defeated House Sephulcre and was hunting the knights and attendants down.  Grimm was determined to recruit the survivors of House Sephulcre to his cause and his protection.  On this moon one of the survivors of the initial clash between knight houses was being hunted by House Harrowstorm.  Grimm would rescue the damaged machine and any pilots and care he could.

Warp storms boiled across the sky growing in intensity and fueling dread and terror as House Harrowstorm advanced under its cover to engage Grimm's command.  Grimm attempted to contact the chaos knights only to be greeted with malignant scrap code that filled the vox with howls of screaming daemons.  Fire lanced out and scythe down the soul bonded guardsmen that Grimm had conscripted and corrupted into his service.  They were blown apart even as on the other flank thermal spears lanced out drawing smoke and surface damage to the grave Tithe Colossus Defiler.  The nearby vindicator however exploded under the lance fire.

Grimm's forces reeled under the onslaught even as Harkon voxed from orbit that the fleet was under assault by House Harrowstorm craft and their allies in the Dark mechanicus.  Grimm opened fire on a wardog even as it slammed into him and his chosen.  A number of chosen n fell but the power fists and daemon weapons were able to slice through the wardogs armor and set it ablaze.  The grave Tithe Colossus led Brutus to charge another of House Harrowstorm.   Their guns cut down dark mechanicus thrills before they charged in wrecking another wardog. 

The remaining wardogs advanced on Grimm's forces while heretics siezed key personnel.  Brutus was blown apart by a thermal spears.  His sarcophagus teleported back to the ship in an emergency protocol.  Another wardog slammed the Grave-Tithe Colossus with a brutal thermal spears before slamming into it with a giant chainglaive hacking off two limbs before the Grave-Tithe Colossus struck back smashing apart the wardog before collapsing immobilized.  Grimm grabbed a bound daemonhost pilot while shells from the wardogs hammered his retinue.

The wardog that blew apart Brutus turned and charged into the back of the Grave-Tithe Colossus it's blades rising and falling setting it aflame.  The flare of a teleport saw the Grave Tithe Colossus dissappear.  Grimm howled in rage and frustration.  Harkon came over the vox sending evacuation coordinates and informing Grimm he had ordered a bombardment to cover the withdrawal.  Grimm snarled that he would not withdraw.  Even as he said this Harkon was on the vox informing him that the dark side would crush the flottilla within the hour and if he didn't withdraw he would die on this moon.  With no choice Grimm took his small prize and fell back.  Harkon had overstepped Grimm raged.  Grimm looked back to see House Harrowstorm destroying the remnants of their rivals.
