Guided by the visions of seers and the whispered warnings of the Adeptus Custodes, a Grey Knight strike force arrived on the frontier planet of Livtosk. An advanced recon force was sent down to the planet below to investigate limited daemonic contacts the seers could detect. A fear grew amongst the recon element that the divine scrying that spoke of a twin terrored warp entity appearing on Litovsk could be wrong.
Unbeknownst to the Grey Kights the Alpha Legion had sent a retrieval force to the planet to recover a critical dead drop from a sleeper agent. The drop held in in concealment a piece of thunder warrior armor stained in its owners blood. It was hoped dna and other clues could be gathered from this relic in order to aid the Mount Arrat project. Alpha Legion scouts ran into the advance party of the grey knights and were cut down after a brutal exchange of blows.
Mutant cultists of The Morlocks corps began to rush the landing pad while bloodthirsty spawn ripped apart a squad of grey knights that was still bloody and dazed from their battle against the Alpha Legion recon patrol. The fighting began then in earnest.
