After the opening of the great rift and the coming of the indomitous crusade a new chapter of primaris marines was established in the Atticus sector. The watch knights were founded from imperial first gene seed. Once entrenched along the great rift they began launching sorties and crusades to nearby areas. A van guard force entered ahead of a crusade battle group into the stygian wars. The above shown lieutenant led early reconnaissance missions into the stygian empire.
