Lycos- not all forces were able to be withdrawn to the Shard of Tartarus space Hulk. A number of the mutants from the Morlock Corps detonated WMD’s as a final act of spite and to help cover the rest of the Alpha Legion withdrawal. Such spite was typical of rearguard operations during the Stygian Wars.
