As part of the pact that saw the 7th Hydra Alpha Legion gain the Shard of Tartarus, Ark of Omen, they needed to recover a relic from the Mechanicus world of Lycos. Lord Magwar summoned many of his senior commanders to plan the assault on Lycos. The plan was to jump the Shard of Tartarus deep behind the frontlines of the Stygian war and launch a surprise smash and grab operation on Lycos. With the Imperium off balance from the Crimson Dragon offensive such an operation seemed feasible. The more so since the ark of omen had been strengthened with multiple blisters of void shields. The Lycos raid would be a major undertaking for the Alpha Legion. If successful however they would have the favor of Vashtorr and Abaddon as well as a giant space fleet fortress in the Shard of Tartarus.
