As the Stygian wars continued, Alpha legion commanders met with their Stygian counterparts to plan future operations against the imperium. Imperial mining outposts on the Falmer moons soon garnered the attention of the Alpha legion. The Falmer system was mostly uninhabited and poor in material. It was therefore relatively lightly defended. However such a target was generally not seen as worth a large effort. The Falmer system was however close to several stable warp routes. The Alpha legion proposed capturing the Falmer moon outposts and turning them into monitoring stations of the nearby warp routes using captured psychers and dark mechanicus tech. Furthermore the outpost could hold supplies and be turned into a staging point for further incursions into imperial space.
