Warp Strike Projector

 

One of the Alpha Legion additions to the Shard of Tartarus space hulk were a number of Warp Strike Projectors.  These horrific weapons blended science with sorcery in the terrifying arcana of the Dark mechanicus.  These weapons used charged noctolith attached to a teleport pad fueled with arcane and blood offerings.  A dark mechanicus magos would monitor and control the projector from a control console.  When a enemy ship was within teleportation range with it's void shields down the projector would be activated.  It would open a teleportation gate in the enemy vessel, but instead of an object or troops the charged Blackstone and arcane offerings would instead open a temporary gate from the warp itself.  Allowing the denizens of the warp access to the material plane within the target ship.

The resulting tide of daemons would the wreck havoc on the crew.  Butchering all they come across sustaining themselves in the material plane only through bloodshed and slaughter.  Such a warp strike would severely disrupt a ship's effectiveness leaving it easy prey for the Alpha Legion vessels.  The warp strike projectors aboard the Shard of Tartarus were not exclusively used for navel combat.  The Alpha Legion also made use of them in flash fire terror raids.  The projectors opening numerous warp rifts in planetary population centres unleashing terror and carnage before the Alpha Legion ship departed.
