Tinkering with unbound adversaries- crusade Armageddon

Crusade Armageddon introduced us to the unbound adversaries mechanism for allowing daemons on hellscapes to materialize and possibly attack both sides.  A niche rule but a great framework to build off of.  In my Fire and Vengeance Crusade campaign most of the battles will occur on Gorash III.  Warpstone on the planet has turned some of the population into rage zombies while some chaos cults have gathered and begun worshipping warp stone.  The consequences of which are mutation.  The unbound adversaries mechanism allows me to show this in the campaign.  Rage zombies are units of jackels attacking both sides in mindless rage.  The insane mutants are represented by accursed cultists doing the same.  This is a great way to use the unbound adversaries mechanism.  Furthermore as we play this campaign we have a brand new player in our group who has no experience playing Warhammer 40k.   The unbound adversaries can be run by him allowing him to only focus on 1 or 2 units allowing him to pick up some of the games basics while also keeping him engaged in the game.  The unbound adversaries mechanism is a great tool for engaging new players without armies or just a few units into the game and Narrative gaming.

I also am planning on using modifications of the unbound adversaries mechanism to represent cut off allied units that need rescue in a scenario.  A handful of Arbites survivors Alamoed up in a set of ruins.  A sisters of battle squad in a similar situation.  In this case the unbound adversaries force will only attack one side.  Similarly in the campaign on Gorash III if the World Eaters army slaughters the unbound adversaries jackels and accursed cultists over a few games, these forces will then no longer attack the World Eaters.  Having established dominance, these will be narrative campaign extensions to the World Eaters crusade.

After a little tinkering for use in my own crusade campaign I feel I might have been a bit dismissive about the unbound adversaries mechanism initially.  Let me know what you think.  Is this something you might use in your gaming group?
