Dread Traveler boarded

 

The custodes stealthily approached the devestation class cruiser Dread Traveler aboard the Talon class Sword Frigate His Will.  Getting close a teleport strike was launched by Captain Kalrok as he attempted to raid the ships strong rooms for Lord Kirro’s soul shard and only hope for redemption.

Resistance was encountered at once as mutated Spawn and cultists engaged the Custodes.  The decks rang to gunfire and the screams and clash of close combat as the battle began to unfold.

Alpha legion marines began joining the fight laying down vicious fire and closing off routes in the cruiser as the crew struggled to raise the void shields.  It was becoming a race against time as Khargoth the corrupt and his possessed minions slammed into the main custode force in a whirlwind of death and destruction.

Captain Kalrok was able to slip into the strong room as Khargoth the corrupt dealt with the remaining custode.  It was to prove to be enough as Kalrok reached the prize his force had quested for.

Lord Kirro’s soul shard lay grafted in the body of an Alpha level psyker.  Captain Kalrok ignored the deceitful whispers in the room and claimed his prize.  He activated the teleport homer and in an instant was back aboard “His Will”.  He had done it, he had retrieved the shard.  Removing it and rejoining it to Lord Kirro would be the task for the borderline radical Inquisitor.  Rare tomes might be needed and Kalrok would quest to retrieve them for his friends redemption.  But other tasks loomed ahead as well.  The downloaded Data from the “Non Veritas” revealed much.  The gleaned data on the Mt. Ararat project showed some of the Alpha Legion had learned of dark and hidden secrets.  Such secrets must never see the light of day.  Assassins would be sent both for them and the spies who had ferreted the data for them.  Other threats also had been revealed in the downloads.  Daemonic and heretical threats that could threaten the Throne itself if left unchecked.  Assassins, inquisitors, and perhaps even the knights in grey would be brought into the fold and dispatched to thwart the hydras nest of threats they had uncovered.
