Final Battle of Guttar part5

Col. Barsova grimly assessed the situation.  The Stygian forces had hit his forces hard and were acting far more aggressively than anticipated.  He would not be able to simply whittle the traitors down with firepower before launching the coup de grace.  Without a moments hesitation Barsova ordered the advance of the Imperial force, determined to steamroll the Stygian forces.

On the eastern half of the battlefield a Liskavian took aim at a helbrute with a meltagun.  A searing hiss of energy filled the air followed by the sudden eruption of flames as the blast hit the helbrute, ruptured it's power cells and turned it into a flaming wreck.

The Vanquisher and heavy weapon teams in the east took aim at the massive maulerfiend bearing down on them.  Heavy fire slammed into the chaos daemon engine with most of the shots disrupted by the dark aura surrounding the abomination.  Still two rounds were able to punch through staggering the beast, just as quickly it lurched forward now trailing black smoke.

From the one of the wyverns opened fire on the stygian militia that were still advancing.  The shells of Imperial artillery came screeching into the midst of the chaos worshipers.  The howl of the shells competing with their howls of devotion until the explosions that engulfed them silenced them.

The other wyvern warned over the vox of a possible daemonic incursion hurriedly fired at the given coordinates.  A flurry of shells engulfed the rift and the blood soaked daemons of khorne.  as the shelling ceased no trace of the daemons was to be found.

Frantic to be rid of the daemonicly possessed maulerfiend a priest led forward elements of the Liskavian guard equipped with krak grenades into the grips of the war machine.  The daemon engine crushed the first few with ease, trampling them but the devoted battle sermons of the priest kept the Liskavians standing firm determined to destroy the foul warp creation.
